LOL! Gibbs has always been a little larger than life, even in his worst moments, but you really bring him down to earth with his creaky back and his terribly human if also morose thoughts. I had to laugh aloud when he woke up wondering if he'd had a stroke.
He'd always had the capacity to feel and understand what others did, but something had stopped him from expressing it, from connecting with them.
Oh yeah, if canon Gibbs ever, ever started to act on his bone-deep understanding of the people and relationships around him, WOW. I would love to see that. Because Gibbs probably did have a great aunt with unnerving eyes and an even more unnerving ability to read people and events from the future. If he ever tried to reach out with that sort of perception, that would be some sight to see.
